B.A.I.T Collection
An ode to home. Designer Vika Mayzel presents the B.A.I.T. collection.
Through a collection of 16 jewels, Vika reflects on the unpredictability of human destiny, which can be fundamentally changed in a moment.
The complexity of the refugee journey is embedded in the B.A.I.T. collection, which is the Hebrew name for home (בַּיִת), is turned into lines of jewelry. Simple shapes begin to zigzag, get tangled in knots, and then straighten again. In some places the metal is smooth and shiny, in other places it is woven into a unique texture.
The second essential element is the cube of irregular shape. It represents the home to which every human is associated with. Here, perfection replaces a sense of ownership, acknowledging that there is a place in the world that is inseparably linked to us.
